Once you’ve chosen your niche and found a few good keywords, it’s time to start writing! I know that can sound overwhelming at first, so let me tell you my favorite niches to blog on. These are all niches that I’ve built successful blogs in, so if you’re thinking of building a blog yourself then these are some great ways to get started.
In this guide, we find out What Are The Best Niches For Blogging, best niche for blogging with low competition, high demand blog topics, and best profitable niche for blogging.
What Are The Best Niches For Blogging
Content marketing is a powerful tool for growing your business, but it can be challenging to find the right topics to write about. When you’re just starting out with content marketing, it’s tempting to go after popular niches with lots of traffic and competition. However, if you want to build a successful blog that generates leads for your business (and sales), then it’s better to start small and work your way up from there. In this post I’ll discuss my favorite niches for blogging so you can get started on the right foot!
General
- General
This is a very broad topic to discuss as it can include just about anything.
- If you are new to blogging or looking for a niche that allows you to learn easily, this may be the best option for you.
- General niches have a wide range of topics, making them good starting points for beginners. The audience also tends to be much broader than other niches with more specific themes, so it’s easy for bloggers who write about general content to attract readers across multiple interests and experiences.
Entertainment
Entertainment: Movies, TV shows, video games, music. The next good niche for a blog is entertainment because it’s so wide-reaching and can include so many different products. There’s no shortage of things to write about when you focus on this topic.
How do you find new products to review? Try looking at reviews on places like Amazon or Goodreads. What are the most popular books? What are people saying about them? If you read something you like or dislike, consider writing a review on your own site or as a guest post somewhere else! You could also look at what entertainment magazines are doing—they cover all kinds of things related to movies and TV shows (and sometimes music too). Check out what they have on their website or app; maybe there’s something there that would be interesting for your readers!
If I were starting a blog today about movies specifically (which I may one day), I’d start by watching some recent Oscar winners or nominees from categories like Best Picture and Best Actor/Actress (for instance) so that my opinions could be based off real world knowledge rather than just speculation based off advertisements alone which tends not show enough depth into any given subject matter being advertised due its broad nature spanning multiple topics without much weight put behind each individual topic being covered within said advertisement itself.”
Technology
Technology is a broad topic, and it encompasses everything from the latest technology news to how to use it. There are plenty of ways that you can write about technology, but here are some ideas:
- News stories – Every day there are new developments in tech that have the potential to affect our lives. If you’re interested in updating your readers on these stories as they happen, consider writing a blog dedicated to tech journalism.
- How-to guides – If you’re an expert on using certain technologies, or if there’s something specific that interests you within the broader topic of technology (e.g., “how do I use my smartphone?”), then consider creating a guide explaining how someone can go about doing so. This kind of content can be very helpful for people looking for answers on questions like these!
- The history of science – Technology didn’t just appear out of nowhere overnight; rather, it evolved as humans developed more advanced abilities over time (and this evolution continues today!). If this sounds like something worth learning about more thoroughly than what we see in textbooks alone (which often focus more on current events), then consider documenting its development over time through blog posts written by yourself or others who’ve done similar research before you.”
Health/Medical
>>>>>
If you have a passion for health and medical niches, this is definitely a good option for your blog. If not, it might be worth exploring other options since these niches can be highly competitive. The best thing about them is that they’re growing in popularity, so you’ll likely find enough content to keep your readers happy without having to put in too much effort of your own.
If this sounds like something you’re interested in doing (and if you have the expertise), then it’s worth giving it a try! However, if this isn’t the type of thing that excites or interests you as much as other topics do then I would recommend staying away from it unless someone has already done all of their research on how they want their website built out before deciding whether or not they should use one platform versus another
News
News is a fast-moving niche and it’s always relevant. It’s also a topic that people are interested in, making it a great way to build an audience. There are many different types of news: national, local, sports and entertainment. The best thing about blogging on the topic is that there’s always something new happening!
Food
Food blogging is a growing niche, and there are plenty of reasons why. People love to read about food—it’s one of the most popular subjects on the Internet. It’s also an excellent way to make money with your blog as you can write about recipes, restaurant reviews, food travel or anything related to food-related topics.
When it comes to finding what type of food blog you want to build, you have multiple options at your disposal:
Fashion
If you’re thinking about starting a blog, fashion is an ideal niche. It’s a massive industry that can turn into a very profitable business. Fashion bloggers have made hundreds of thousands of dollars from their blogs and are often considered the “rock stars” of the internet.

There are many reasons why fashion is such a popular and lucrative niche for bloggers:
- It’s easy to get started with – You don’t need any special qualifications or training to start blogging about fashion. All you need is passion, creativity and determination! Plus, if you already have some clothes or accessories in your wardrobe then you’re all set! You’ll also be able to create image slideshows using free tools like Canva which will make your blog look professional right away (this means more traffic).
- There’s money in it – Many people interested in becoming fashion bloggers want to build up their own personal style while making money doing so at the same time because they realize there’s potential here but they don’t know where else online marketing opportunities like this exist outside niche websites like Instagram where users post pictures that attract attention from brands wanting them as spokespeople because they’re “influencers” – which sounds fancy but really all it means is someone who has influence over others based off their popularity online through social networks like Facebook and Twitter combined with thousands (millions?) of followers on other platforms such as YouTube channels .
Education/Academics/College
Education/Academics/College is one of the most popular niches for bloggers.
There are many ways you can approach this topic, but whatever route you choose, it’s important to make sure your content is relevant and interesting to your audience.
Here are some ideas for topics that might be of interest:
- Tips for choosing the right college or university for you based on what you want out of school and your career goals.
- An analysis of how different disciplines are taught across different schools nationwide—and why some schools may be better suited for certain majors than others.
- A breakdown of college admissions requirements at various institutions in order to help students choose which ones have the best programs suited to their interests and abilities.
Just For Fun
Fun is an underrated topic for bloggers because it’s often seen as a side project, something you do on the side. But if you can make money blogging about fun things, then your blog can actually become a main source of income!
There are tons of ways to make money blogging—you don’t have to stick with one niche. If you enjoy writing and want to make some extra cash, why not try something new? You could also find yourself getting more traffic than ever hoped for when people see what kind of content you’re putting out there.
best niche for blogging with low competition
The blogging industry is changing daily, which calls for action by bloggers. You probably know all the steps involved in starting up in this field, like the tools and services for blogging, how to create excellent blogs, and the tips/tricks for getting traffic to your content.
But that is not all you should consider – given that there as numerous bloggers and blogging websites, the competition can be stiff.
So, choosing a niche that will be profitable and has low competition is advantageous. How can you find such an area of interest? What strategies can you use to find trending topics to enhance your activities?
This guide discusses the best niches for blogging with low competition and considers the practices for discovering them.
What Is a Blogging Niche?
A blog niche is particular topic bloggers write (or create other kinds of content). And one of the most crucial steps in starting and growing a successful blog is niche selection. Blogging niches let you narrow down your audience and craft helpful blog content that your audience will love.
For some people, choosing a blog niche is one of the challenging parts of their blogging journey. My first blog failed miserably, mainly because of niche selection. The niche is too small and very competitive.
Picking a niche with low competition makes it easier to grow your blog because it will help you focus on a specific audience and type of content. A blogger with a niche will generally do better than bloggers without a niche.
How To Find Profitable Niches With Low Competition
First, let’s consider ways to help you identify the best niches that will pose less competition and hinder your journey to making money online through blogging. Here are some of them:
Choosing the Best Niche
Let’s now consider the best blog niche ideas you can choose that are highly sought and profitable. Below is a list of the niches:
1- Cooking
This is an area with a wide coverage of micro-niches and macro-niches. People love searching for ideas of what to cook and how to do so. If you can write about food and recipe, you can be sure you’ll make good money.
If you have experience in cooking, try a food blog. While you can find competition because several other professional chefs and ordinary people blog about food, if you make the content unique, it will gain traffic.
To succeed in this niche, try and narrow it to a specific target (do micro-niching). It will open opportunities for great niches with low competition.
For instance, instead of writing about “how to cook pilau,” try to engage people with a micro-niche topic like “what ingredients used in making pilau can do to them.” Yes, be as creative as possible to stand out.
2- Online Money Making
Today, people have become more online-oriented than ever before, thanks to technology. As jobs continue to get scarce daily, they need alternative ways to earn, and that’s what online money-making can do for them. Take up this blogging niche and educate people on making money online, full-time or part-time.
Write to them about how YouTube can help them get extra cash, what to do with social media platforms to earn, and the available freelancing platforms to use. This is a highly profitable niche, but still with low competition.
3- Finance and Investment
Writing about this niche can also give someone good money. Personal finance blogs can pay well and has low competition since many people don’t have a high level of understanding and knowledge about it.
Are you familiar with the finance and investment sector? Why not get into this untapped niche that is less saturated and make a living with your blog?
Remember, people, desire to know how to save money, make proper decisions, and invest. So, writing blogs that answer such questions for them can help you get more traffic and earnings.
4- Travelling and Adventure
Have you ever seen those videos on YouTube with topics like, “15 best cities/countries/places to visit in the world?” I’m sure you have watched numerous of those and seen how much they are viewed.
Travel blogs are highly profitable and less competitive because composing them requires effort and money.
People like traveling and touring various places, but before doing so, they need a guide about such places. Writing about some of those places to visit and things to do can earn you more web visitors.
If you can’t travel far to learn about other areas/countries, write about everything you know about your city, state, or country. People are willing to spend time reading about them and leave their homes to visit those places!
5- Family Life
Most bloggers assume this sector and rush to venture into technology, fashion, style, or other technical niches. But that should be to your advantage as it’s left less competitive yet high on demand.
Most people want a happy and smooth family life and can do all it takes to achieve that, even if it means reading long-pages books & publications. Thus, why not write about marriage life and parenting?
If you are married or are a parent, you can write about how mons and dads can raise their children well, how they can strengthen their union, what to do when problems arise in the family, etc. This niche can help you focus on providing useful content for families while making money.
6- Health and Fitness
We all want to live better lives and be physically and mentally healthy. And that’s why health & wellness blogs provide a great room for you as a blogger.
If you’re a health expert with the relevant credentials, you can teach people how to live healthily. This niche contains numerous topics one can write about, from dieting, mental health advice, physical wellbeing, illnesses, side effects, and treatment.
Depending on which topics you choose to focus on, this is a niche that can help you make money and feel the satisfaction of teaching others too.
high demand blog topics
Creating a blog has become one of the most popular ways to make money online. However, just because everyone’s doing it doesn’t mean it’s easy, especially for beginners. In order to succeed as a blogger, you’ll first need to know what the most profitable blog niches are.
Fortunately, there are plenty of blog topics you can explore. Once you find a niche that meets your interests and supports your skillset, you can start delivering high-quality articles and monetizing your content.
In this post, we’ll explore six of the most profitable blog niches, and offer some tips to help you get started. Let’s dive right in!
The most profitable blog niches for 2022
If you want to pick the perfect topic for a new blog to make money, these six great niches are the right place to start.
1. Digital marketing
It’s difficult to overestimate the importance of digital marketing in today’s business world, even when it comes to small businesses. In 2021, the industry reached a market size of $155.3 billion in the US alone .
Digital marketing covers a broad range of strategies, from search engine optimization (SEO) and email campaigns to social media and influencer marketing. As the eCommerce world continues to grow, more online businesses are seeking the expertise of marketers to help them reach new customers and boost their conversion rates and turn them into blog income.
Whether you have a business degree or consider yourself social media savvy, digital marketing offers a lot of potential. You can narrow down your focus into a micro-niche, such as affiliate marketing or social media management, and turn your blog into a valuable resource regarding a variety of different topics.
For instance, a popular blogger and marketer, Neil Patel, runs a blog about the latest trends and hacks in digital marketing:
If you decide to monetize your blog with affiliate programs, you’ll find plenty of relevant products and services to promote. This includes marketing tools, such as SEO plugins and email lists and platforms.
2. Blogging and making money online
Blogging has become so popular in recent years that there’s actually a large blog niche dedicated to helping people break into this industry. In 2020, there were over 31 million bloggers in the US .
You’ll also find plenty of blogs that help people make money online. This can involve anything from blogging and freelance writing to working as a virtual assistant or starting your own online business.
For example, blogger Melyssa Griffin helps fellow bloggers and entrepreneurs grow their online businesses:
If you’ve been blogging for a while now, this is one profitable niche you can explore. In recent years, bloggers and influencers have come to play an important role in the digital marketing world. In fact, the global market value of influencer marketing reached 13.8 billion dollars in 2021 .
With more people exploring blogging as a source of income, you can share your expert tips and advice to help them succeed. You could show them how to write content that converts or drive traffic from social media channels such as Pinterest.
When it comes to monetizing your content, you can start by promoting affiliate products, such as writing courses or SEO tools that can help people grow their blogs. You may even want to consider launching your own blogging course or hosting paid webinars.
3. Health and fitness
Online fitness classes have grown in popularity during the pandemic, with many people having no option but to exercise at home . However, studies have shown that nine in ten Americans who exercise regularly will continue to work out at home, even after gyms have reopened .
If you’re a health professional, you can take advantage of this growing trend and a new target audience by starting your own fitness blog. Thanks to the nature of this industry, you’re not restricted to only writing blog posts. In fact, you can create all sorts of content, from workout videos to fitness courses, and one-on-one training sessions or tutorials on proper technique.
For instance, the fitness site Love Sweat Fitness contains everything from blog posts and workout videos to an app that helps you stay in shape:
This niche presents plenty of opportunities to make money. You can work with brands to promote products, such as fitness equipment and clothing. You might even offer an online health program or sell a subscription to your workout videos.
4. Personal finance and investing
People are always looking for ways to manage their money more effectively. In fact, data by Google shows that mobile searches related to financial planning and management have grown by over 70% in the last two years. The same data also shows that there’s been a significant increase in investing and stock-related app searches .
Personal finance can therefore be a lucrative blogging niche. As a financial advisor, you can help people manage their money wisely, whether by saving for retirement or making the right investments.
For example, the finance blog Making Sense of Cents offers a wealth of tips and advice, from saving money to paying off loans:
The FIRE niche (Financial Independence, Retire Early) is also very popular in 2022 and beyond, with lots of blogs focused on helping people plan and achieve FIRE.
However, if you’re helping people save money and spend responsibly, you may be wondering how you can convince them to make purchases through your blog. The trick is to sell something that can help them make more money in the long run.
In other words, you’ll need to present your product as an investment. For example, you can create an online course on your WordPress blog to help people master the stock market. You could even host webinars or give individual financial advice.
5. Recipes and food
Food is an evergreen topic, and one of the most profitable blog niches. It also offers various sub-niches to explore, from quick and easy meals to information on specific diets.
One food topic that has become increasingly popular in recent years is home cooking. In fact, in the midst of the pandemic, interest in online cooking classes skyrocketed by over 1,177% .
The food niche is very saturated. You’ll find hundreds of blogs offering recipes, meal plans, product reviews, and diet advice:
However, this doesn’t mean it’s difficult to break into the market of the food bloggers. You’ll just need to get a bit creative, especially if it’s your first blog, such as by putting your own twist on popular dishes or sharing innovative recipes.
Given the visual nature of this topic, you may want to pair your food blog with an image-centric platform, such as Instagram or Pinterest. The latter is a popular resource for recipes:
When it comes to monetization, there are various options you can explore. For example, you can partner with food brands and create recipes using their products. If you want to earn a passive income through your blog, you could sell your own printable cook books or give live-streamed cooking classes.

6. Personal development and self-care
Self-care has become a popular trend in recent years. These unusual times have made people more attuned to their mental wellness, leading to a growing interest in personal development and wellbeing.
However, 80% of Americans intend to continue practicing self-care even after the pandemic . Moreover, a recent analysis by Google shows that interest in personal development is no longer a “New Year trend”, and users are continuously searching for queries related to wellness .
If you’re a trained psychologist, a wellness coach, or counselor, you may want to consider delving into the self-care industry. There are a variety of topics you can write about, from morning routines and stress management to mindfulness techniques and journaling.
best profitable niche for blogging

In this article, we’ll explain how to easily choose the best blogging niche that will eventually help you start earning online.
What is a Blog?
A blog is a website that’s updated regularly with new pieces of content, which are normally written articles. These are called “posts” and appear in reverse chronological order, with the newest at the top of the list.
To learn more, see our guide on the difference between a blog and a website.
When blogs first started, they were mostly personal diaries, sharing information on a range of topics of interest to the person writing.
That’s still how some blogs work today, but a large number of blogs now focus on specific niches that interest the blogger and their target audience.
For instance, WPBeginner is a blog focused on helping non-techy users do more with WordPress through helpful tutorials, how-tos, and other articles.
How to Make a Blog?
To start a blog, you need three key things:
Normally, a domain name costs around $15-20 per year and web hosting starts from $7.95 per year.
That’s a significant investment, especially when you are just testing the waters.
Luckily, Bluehost has agreed to offer our users a free domain name and a generous discount on hosting. Basically, you can get started for $2.75 per month.

Can You Really Make Money Blogging?
Starting a blog isn’t going to make you rich overnight, but you can definitely make money blogging.
Many popular blogs make money online using different methods. Often, this is called “monetizing” your blog.
Smaller blogs with a specific target audience can easily make a nice side income. Many popular blogs make six and even seven-figure income (see: WPBeginner income – how much money does WPBeginner make?).
The following are just some of the most popular monetization methods used by blogs all over the world.
Advertising: Running ads, often through an advertising network like Google AdSense. Some bloggers sell ads directly to companies instead.
Sponsorship: Running sponsored (paid for) content from an advertiser. This is often in the form of sponsored blog posts, but could also include social media posts on Instagram or other social networks.
Affiliate marketing: Linking to products or services that offer commission when someone clicks on your link and makes a purchase. This is a great way to monetize your blog. We have lots of affiliate marketing tips and tools to make it easy for you.
Digital products: By selling digital products like Ebooks, online courses, printables, apps, software, music, and more. Digital products generally have low overheads and can work for almost any niche.
Services: If you’re a writer, photographer, coach, or similar, that can be a great way to monetize your blog. You might even start a blog to help you market an existing service you offer, like logo design or freelance writing.
Physical products: Although they have higher costs than digital ones, physical products can be a great way to make money. It’s easy to add an online store to your WordPress blog and start selling.
Things to Consider When Choosing Your Blogging Niche
Many new blogs die within a few weeks and most don’t even make it to a couple of months.
Whatever blogging niche you choose, make sure you are genuinely interested in that topic. This would make it easier to stick to it and keep yourself motivated.
It’s also important to consider:
Do you know enough about your niche to be able to write confidently? You don’t need to be an expert, but it’s best to start a blog on a topic that you’re able to write about without having to do loads of research.
Can you easily make money from your niche? While blogs on all sorts of topics can and do make money, some niches are a lot easier to monetize than others. A blog about a little-known or uninteresting topic might not get enough readers to make much money.
Have you chosen an appropriately sized niche? It’s best not to go too broad. If you’re aiming for an audience of “everyone”, you’re likely to end up with “no one”. Try to find a sub-niche that’s a great fit for you.
Are you happy to have your name associated with your niche? While it’s fine to blog anonymously if you want to, however you might find it difficult to monetize.
Top Blogging Niches That Will Make Money
You might already have a topic in mind for your blog, or you might not have any ideas at all. All the niches below are great ones to try, so long as you pick a topic that you’re truly interested in.
These are all big, popular niches that have been around for years and that can make a lot of money.
1. Health and Fitness
Health and fitness are huge topics, and you’ll definitely find an audience if you’re blogging about something in this area.

3. Fashion
Fashion is another immensely popular blogging niche and one that could be a great money-maker. It’s a particularly good fit if you love posting on Instagram, which is where some fashion bloggers have become especially influential.
Many fashion blogs focus on the blogger and include lots of photos. If you want to remain anonymous, or if you hate being photographed, then this type of fashion blogging probably isn’t for you. Instead, you might want to blog about particular trends within fashion, or share fashion-related news.
Although you might associate fashion blogging with female bloggers, this niche isn’t just for women.
There are plenty of men’s fashion blogs (often called “men’s style”) out there too. These tend to focus more on tips and product suggestions than on personal photos.
We have a complete guide on how to start a fashion blog and make money with step by step instructions.
4. Lifestyle
What’s the “lifestyle” niche in blogging? It can be a little confusing if you’re new to blogging, so let’s break it down.
Lifestyle means writing about a range of different topics that are connected through having the same audience.
For instance, you might have a lifestyle blog where you write about food, fashion, and motherhood. The connection is that you’re writing for women in their 30s and 40s who want to eat well and look great while raising young children.
Alternatively, you might have a lifestyle blog aimed at single women that focuses on travel, beauty, and hair. Or you might have a blog aimed at men aged 20 to 40 that’s all about style, fitness, and music.
The mix of topics is up to you, but it’s important to make sure your blog has a very clear brand to give it focus and direction.
Tip: Many fashion WordPress themes or fitness WordPress themes can be a good fit for lifestyle blogs. As with fashion blogs, design is really important in this niche, so invest in a premium theme if you can.
5. Business and Marketing
There are loads of blogs out there that cover business and marketing related topics. If you’ve been reading a lot about blogging, you might feel like every popular blog talks about something to do with blogging, marketing or building a business!
If you’ve got a business or marketing background, then starting a blog in this niche could be a great idea. As with the other niches on our list, this is a huge one, so you’ll want to find a clear focus and voice for your own blog.
Depending on your expertise and interests, you might choose to blog about:
Tip: Almost any of these multi-purpose WordPress themes could work for your business or marketing website. Divi is an especially good option as it’s fully responsive and you can customize it however you like.
6. Technology and Gaming
The fast-paced technology niche is great for making money from affiliate income, either directly from manufacturers and software companies, or through a website like Amazon.
Your best monetization routes are likely to be through advertising and affiliate marketing. Even if you’re not writing in-depth product reviews, a technology or gaming blog will give you lots of chances to link to products or software using affiliate links.
